TxDOT hears Loop 88 concerns at public forum

Posted: Updated:

The Texas Department of Transportation invites the public to discuss segments 1, 2, and 4 of the proposed Loop 88 project.

The proposed six-lane freeway improvements will use eminent domain to get the land in south Lubbock county.

Written comments and concerns may be submitted by mail or email to District Design Engineer Shelly Harris.

"We take every comment into consideration but, at the end of the day, we're going to look at the alignment and do the environmental study and we're going to do what's best to satisfy the transportation needs for the area," Spokesperson Dianah Ascencio said.

Though the project is awaiting final approval, construction is anticipated to start in 2021.
