The teenager accused of shooting and killing two librarians in Clovis will stand trial next year.

The Curry County District Attorney's Office will try 16 year old Nathaniel Jouett as an adult.

He faces two counts of first degree murder, seven counts of child abuse, four counts of aggravated battery and 20 counts of assault with intent to commit a violent felony -- 33 in total.

Jouett is accused of storming the Carver Public Library then shooting and killing two women and wounding four other victims.

Wanda Walters, 61, and Kristina Carter, 48, died in the attack.

Court records indicate Jouett told investigators he initially intended to target the school and instead he somehow ended up at the library.

He told investigators he was mad and had been thinking bad things for some time.

His trial is slated for March 2019 and into April.
