LUBBOCK, Texas -

The man arrested in Monday night's SWAT confrontation threatened at least two people with a gun after firing shots into the air, according to Lubbock Police.

Investigators say Hector Quintela got into a fight with his girlfriend at the Lynnwood Townhomes, near Kemper and North Belmont. She asked neighbors for help as she tried to leave in her car. Quintela warned the neighbors to leave before he got his gun.

About an hour later, neighbors say Quintela fired shots down an alley way. While on the phone with 9-1-1 dispatchers, a neighbor told police Quintela approached shouting "this is going to end tonight". The victim says Quintela then put away his gun and tried to jump the fence. He failed, striking the fence, then went back to his home.

Police report finding Quintela walking in circles, seemingly very angry. He stormed into his garage and barricaded himself, leading to an hours-long standoff with the SWAT team. No one was hurt.

Quintela is jailed on drug possession charges as well as aggravated assault by threats with a deadly weapon, and evading arrest. He's held on $100,000 bond.
