LUBBOCK, Texas -

A man is jailed facing multiple charges after police say he pointed a gun at a detective in Plainview Tuesday.

According to Plainview Police, the detective was working an unrelated case at the Dollar General on West 24th Street when he heard Justin Kyle Lopez arguing with an employee. The detective tried to calm him down. That's when, investigators say, Lopez became unruly, made threats, walked outside and pointed a gun at the detective.

Lopez ran to a nearby home. Plainview Police, Hale County Sheriff's Deputies, and State Troopers surrounded the home and evacuated some nearby neighbors. A SWAT team entered the home and found Lopez.

He's charged with aggravated assault on a peace officer in addition to other charges.
