With DTS:X, as well as Sonic Carrier's Current Dolby Atmos® Support, Users Have Access to an Even Larger Portfolio Of Advanced Surround Sound Movies & Games
LAS VEGAS, Jan. 8, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Creative Technology Ltd today announced at CES 2018 that it is collaborating with DTS, Inc. to enable its X-Fi Sonic Carrier to have soundbar-specific DTS:X support, which will be available as a firmware upgrade when ready.
TS:X, the latest technology from DTS, delivers immersive moving surround sound; and now includes a height element. DTS:X places sound where it would occur naturally in space, creating the most lifelike, multi-dimensional audio experience ever. This improved immersion and heightened realism makes horror movies scarier, comedies more laugh-out-loud, and car chase scenes even more intense. Users will now be able to experience the latest DTS:X and all preceding DTS surround sound content through the Sonic Carrier.
The Sonic Carrier which personifies the Audio of Tomorrow is a powerful home entertainment system with 17 drivers in a 15.2 configuration and 1000W RMS power that works out-of-the-box to deliver a fuss-free powerful audio solution, giving the added edge over more complex solutions with multiple discrete speakers and messy wiring.
"With DTS:X, the Sonic Carrier experience will get even more exciting, given its range of immersive DTS:X titles. Along with Dolby Atmos and Creative's SuperWide X-Fi™ technology, Sonic Carrier users will enjoy an amazingly lifelike, multi-dimensional SuperWide 15.2 HD experience," said Sim Wong Hoo, CEO of Creative and creator of the Sonic Carrier. "The performance of the Sonic Carrier is so magical that it has blown many away, industry experts have even dubbed it 'soundbar of the gods'."
"The X-Fi Sonic Carrier incorporated with DTS:X allows consumers to enjoy a compelling immersive surround and height experience without the need to install additional upfiring speakers nor height speakers in their ceilings. The X-Fi Sonic Carrier's 15.2 configuration does a fine job of executing our DTS:X audio technology to deliver an immersive experience to customers," said Joanna Skrdlant, General Manager of DTS Home Audio Solutions of Xperi, Inc.
Prior to CES 2018, the Sonic Carrier was awarded the Best of CEDIA 2017 Award by AVS Forum, the world's largest AV-enthusiast forum site:
"My mind was completely blown… If somebody asks me to name the best soundbar I've ever heard, I will no longer have any reason to hesitate. I'll simply say, 'Without any question, it's the X-Fi Sonic Carrier from Creative…' The quality of the holographic surround-sound the Creative X-Fi Sonic Carrier puts out is something I have not heard before from any soundbar. Oh, and the subwoofer. Wow." – Mark Henninger, Senior Editor, AVS Forum
Here is what other reviewers and industry insiders are saying about the Sonic Carrier:
"My lord, it was incredible. The Sonic Carrier was able to fill Creative's booth on the busy show floor (in an open exhibition hall at E3) with full, rich sound with the aid of the company's proprietary SuperWide X-Fi tech that can give even compressed stereo sources a panoramic-like soundstage. But more impressively, surround sounds like a bird's song or its fluttering wings felt like they were happening behind and above me." – Jeff Grubb, Reporter at GamesBeat, VentureBeat.com
"The demonstration of the Creative Sonic Carrier was a genuine revelation, the likes of which I haven't experienced in ages. It excelled as both a room-filling home theatre system and as an impressive implementation of Dolby Atmos technology. Hard to believe that it was just the one box, plus subs." – Chris Chiarella, noted audio/video journalist
"I watched the theatrical release of Avatar with my kids in a real cinema. The Avatar demo clip they showed on the new Creative Sonic Carrier was even better than that cinema experience. I could hear the fine details in the jungle atmosphere enveloping me – even the sound of the bugs flying around and above me. It was a hyper-realistic experience." – Madeline Nelson, CEO of Heads Audio
