A two alarm blaze swallows a cotton warehouse on East 46th Street.

Fire fighters spent hours Tuesday night keeping it contained and had to do a second call Wednesday afternoon to separate the cotton and keep the fire from flaring up again.

Cotton fires are notoriously difficult to completely extinguish.

No one was hurt.
