Teen accused of harassing ex on social media indicted for online solicitation

Posted: Updated:

Grand jurors have indicted a teenager for online solicitation of a minor.

Police say 18-year-old Justin Fitts sent many illicit Snapchats and explicit social media messages to an ex-girlfriend over the course of several months.

Investigators report Fitts used many different user names, including variants of the victim's own real name and those of family members, to harass them.

The first report was made early last May when investigators say Fitts told the victim he would sexually assault her after work.

Police recommended upgrading the harassment investigation into online solicitation after the victim's mother reported she feared for her daughter's safety in August.
