Freezing fog possible early Thursday, warmer next few days

LUBBOCK, Texas -

THIS AFTERNOON: After freezing drizzle and some real light snow this morning, it's stayed cold all day. We've finally seen a little sun, but the temperature is still in the 20s and 30s this afternoon.

TONIGHT: A few clouds, low near 22. The humidity will again climb to 90-100%, which means freezing fog is possible in the morning. It probably won't be drizzle like last night, but freezing fog can still cause a few icy patches on bridges.

NEXT FEW DAYS: It'll be warmer Thursday with a SW/W wind 5-15mph. High near 58, sunny in Lubbock. It'll stay colder east, off of the Caprock.

high temperature forecast

Friday will get even warmer, high near 67 beneath a sunny sky with a gusty SW wind.

COLDER WEEKEND: Saturday will likely only manage to reach the mid 40s, mostly sunny to partly cloudy. Though there is still some disagreement in the computers, it looks like New Year's Eve and New Year's Day will turn even colder. There also may be weak support for some light snow late Sunday, but it doesn't look like anything significant. We may actually see freezing drizzle instead of snow, which also can make roads slick. Not good for New Year's Eve.

We're forecasting 30s for the high Sunday, only upper 20s Monday.

Next week the temperature should climb some Tuesday and Wednesday.

7-day forecast

Hope you have a great rest of your day. Bobby will have an update to the forecast early tomorrow morning.
