Lady Raiders coach students vs. faculty game at O.L. Slaton

The East Lubbock Community Alliance brought in some heavy hitters for Lubbock ISD's students versus faculty basketball game at O.L. Slaton.

Lady Raider Basketball, including Sheryl Swoopes, make a production out of it, including trivia games and getting parents involved.

"The Lady Raider Basketball season is in full swing, and those girls are busy and tired and for them to just take their time out and just come out here and enjoy these kids, it's something that these kids will never forget, and hopefully something the Lady Raiders won't ever forget," A.J. McLeod with East Lubbock Community Alliance said.

"I also think it's important than these young men and women get an opportunity to see players -- such as Brittany -- and the entire team," Swoopes said. "The message is, 'if you work hard and you believe in yourself and you do the right things, this is what can happen.'"

The district puts on a game like this each year, but this is the first time the Lady Raiders have participated.
