Showers well south of Lubbock tonight, warmer weekend

Posted: Updated:
LUBBOCK, Texas -

COLD DAY: We had a little bit of real light snow early this morning around Lubbock and again mid-day today. And by light...hardly even noticeably and it melted on contact. Clouds have cleared over the Panhandle, where the temperature climbed into the 50s. Around Lubbock it's stayed colder...upper 30s to lower 40s at mid-afternoon...because of the clouds. As of 2 p.m. it's colder south of the city, with some light showers. This could either be rain, snow or a mix. These showers will continue moving SE for the rest of the afternoon.
