Carol of Lights happens Friday


Texas Tech and Residence Hall Association Host 59th Annual Carol of Lights®

This year’s theme is “Miracle on Memorial Circle.”

WHAT:           The Texas Tech University Residence Hall Association will host the 59th annual Carol of Lights® ceremony with the theme “Miracle on Memorial Circle.”


WHEN:           Friday (Dec. 1)

·         At 6:30 p.m., the Carillon Concert will take place at the Administration Building west tower, directed by Thomas Hughes.

·         At 7 p.m., the Torch Light Processional will begin the ceremony.

WHERE:         Memorial Circle, the Engineering Key, the Science Quad and the Broadway Entrance to Texas Tech

EVENT:          More than 25,000 colored lights will illuminate to the university. The 38-foot Christmas tree sitting behind the Texas Tech seal also will be lit during the ceremony. Student organizations collaborated to honor the annual tradition.

                        Parking will be available in most faculty/staff or commuter lots. ADA parking will be available in the Z1 parking lot, accessible from 15th Street and Detroit Avenue.
