Arson suspect taken in for questioning

UPDATE (11.28 9am)
23-year-old Michael Thompson was apprehended last night by the fire marshal's office. 

He was wanted for questioning about a fire that happened at 4918 62nd st this past weekend. Video from the homeowner’s security camera shows the suspect walking towards the area where the fire was started and then fleeing the scene on foot after setting the fire. 

ORIGINAL REPORT (11.26):

At 3:15 p.m. this afternoon LFR units responded to 4918 62nd for a reported structure fire. E9 reported on scene at 3:19 p.m. and reported flames and smoke visible. E9 determined that the fire had started as a grass fire then traveled up the fence and into the attic of the residence. Additional units arrived and proceeded to pull ceiling in the back bedroom and extinguish the attic fire. Units declared the fire out at 3:40 p.m. and continued monitoring the residence for hot spots. No one was at home at the time of the fire but one dog was rescued in good shape. Two adults and one child will be displaced from the home. The Fire Marshal's Office was called to investigate and we will update this post if we receive any additional information.
