LUBBOCK, Texas -

Local LBK rounded up popular food trucks around town for what the organization called a "Pop-Up Food Park."

In the middle of the Monterey Wheelock neighborhood, organizers want to bring life and activity back to a once thriving neighborhood shopping center.

The goal of the event is to promote interest in neighborhood revitalization in central Lubbock by increasing the public's interest in making a permanent food truck park in the Hub City.

"A good steady flow of individuals coming throughout the day, gathering together and being able to have a diverse number of food choices available to them, and that's exactly what food trucks are designed to do," Volunteer Nicholas Bergfeld said.

Organizers hope this will increase demand for food trucks in the city and further support local small business owners.
