Visit Lubbock, Lubbock Sports Authority to host four major event

Visit Lubbock, Lubbock Sports Authority to host four major events

LUBBOCK, Texas -

Visit Lubbock and the Lubbock Sports Authority will host four major events:

  • The NJCAA division one women's basketball championship through 2021
  • The State Firefighters and Fire Marshals Association will host its conference in Lubbock
  • The educational conference Connect Texas is coming, with its trade show
  • The national World War II Glider Pilot's Association is holding its 48th reunion

"We are super excited that these four groups are going to have nearly a $4.4 million impact," Lubbock Economic Development Alliance CEO John Osborne said. "It's going to generate more than 14,000 room nights as a result of all the events that are coming town just specific to the announcements today."

Mayor Dan Pope says he hopes these bookings will encourage more organizations to come to Lubbock, to experience our unique hospitality.
