Levelland man's family desperate for answers after he goes missing

LEVELLAND, Texas -

Levelland police and Lubbock County sheriffs are actively looking for a missing man who was last seen September 29th.

Jacob Wayne Duffee, 30, is white, about five-four, 120 pounds, with brown hair and hazel eyes.

Police report there's no obvious foul play at this time, but circumstances led police to say Duffee may be in some kind of danger.

"This is just not our brother to go missing like this."

Elizabeth Duffee spoke on behalf of her family at a Levelland police press conference Sunday morning.

She said it's out of character for her brother to go missing without a trace.

"We're so close as a family that something is not right, we know it in our hearts. We know that he would be here right now if he was okay."

Levelland police Sergeant Tammie McDonald said Duffee was last seen in Levelland at the S&D Oil Change. He was wearing a green shirt, khaki pants, a dark baseball cap and a dark jacket.

"Mr. Duffee was driving his 2005 F-250, white in color pickup," McDonald said.

Duffee's truck was later found on County Road 7570 and University by a Lubbock County Sheriff deputy.

Levelland police chief Albert Garcia said the truck was parked in a ditch with the lights on and one door open, with Duffee's phone still inside. Helicopters did canvas the area where the truck was found. Garcia said there didn't appear to be any sort of damage to the truck.

Jeff Goodnight, a Lubbock County resident, told FOX34 he saw Duffee's truck parked in the ditch on Friday, September 29th.

"It'd been sitting there through the weekend. Monday, I see it, and it was tagged by a sheriff's officer," Goodnight said. "I had seen the helicopter and I knew kinda sorta, not the situation but I just knew the person was missing.."

The family said they will not stop looking for their loved one.

"You're gonna come home to us and we're all going to go back to our lives and not be distraught or have sleepless nights of wondering where you are and if you're okay. We love you."

There is a $2500 reward for any info leading to a safe return.

If you have any information, you're urged to contact the Levelland police or Lubbock County Sheriff's department.
