LUBBOCK, Texas -

Some Lubbock Cooper Pirates will get a chance to improve their overall health.

Fuel Up to Play 60 is a partnership with the district, the NFL and the USDA to encourage children to stay active. The program will soon be kicking off at South Elementary.

"Our coaches a lot of the time will show them the moves, show them the exercises, then we implement it in the school," said Kristy Rose with Lubbock-Cooper ISD. "It's a whole school commitment and we're excited to make South Elementary a healthier place."

Each day of the week has it's own subject dedicated to health and wellness.

Mindful Mondays to take brain breaks, Tidbit Tuesdays with healthy facts spread throughout the day, Wet Your Whistle Wednesday to emphasize drinking water, Theatrical Thursdays to encourage dramatizing everyday things, and Fantastic Fridays with structured recess.
