More from FOL:
The FOL (Friends of the Lubbock Public Library) is proud of our service to the Lubbock Library system since 1967. Celebrating our Golden 50th Anniversary we are presenting a number of happenings in 2017.

Mayor Dan Pope and the Lubbock City Council will proclaim Friends of The Library 50th Anniversary day on October 8, 2017.

That day will feature the FOL sponsored literary event; Real Life Inspiration for Downton Abbey by Jessica Fellowes. Having ended its run of new episodes, Real Life Inspiration, is an opportunity to recall, reminisce, and revel in this insider presentation by Ms Fellowes. Downton Abbey has captivated a wide ranging audience in its six seasons presenting the life, times, interpersonal relations, intrigues, and styles of Georgian England from 1912-1925.

Jessica Fellowes is niece of Downton Abbey creator and writer Julian Fellowes, and author of four companion guides to the series. These guides include the latest installment, Downton Abbey – A Celebration, St Martin’s Press, the ultimate tribute to the Emmy®-winning MASTERPIECE on PBS series, featuring interviews, photographs, and a complete episode guide covering all six seasons of the hit show.

The event is Sunday, Oct 8, 2017, 3:00 pm at the City Bank Auditorium, Lubbock. Tickets are $5 - $30 (plus fees) and available from Select-a-Seat and its affiliates; www.selectaseatlubbock.com. The $30 VIP seating includes a pre-event meet-and-greet. Her three day stay will also see Ms Fellowes making an academic presentation to Lubbock area high school students and a master’s presentation to university students. A gala dinner will be provided for sponsors and open to the public as space is available.

FOL is proud to be partnering with a number of Lubbock businesses and individuals to bring you this wonderful event. Our goal is to give back to the community beyond our continuing assistance to the library and literacy programs of Lubbock. Additionally, we encourage your participation as a member of FOL, existing or new, and as a regular volunteer in FOL activities. We can’t do this without our members, volunteers, and our wonderful public support.

Plan to join us on October 8, 2017, 3:00 pm, City Bank Auditorium for Jessica Fellowes’ presentation, Real Life Inspiration for Downton Abbey. For more information e-mail us at events@lubbockfol.org
