SPFB feeds the elderly through Senior Nutrition Program

LUBBOCK, Texas -

The South Plains Food Bank unveiled a program that focuses on food vulnerable seniors. 

Food boxes will be delivered monthly to specific screen sites via several partner organizations. It will help improve the health of low- income elderly who are 60 and over, providing nutritious USDA approved foods.

The Senior Nutrition Program has already screened more than 600 applicants.

Program participants will also qualify for vouchers for food directly from the food bank.
