Mayor Pope announces re-election campaign

LUBBOCK, Texas -

Lubbock Mayor Dan Pope wants two more years on the job.

"I stand in front of you today asking for your support of my re-election campaign to serve another term as the mayor of our city," Pope said. "Lubbock is in a great place today. We are experiencing solid, steady growth in population."

Mayor Pope said he has a record of results, but is just getting started. He stresses that there is much more to do. 

The city election is in May 2018.  

In addition to mayor, Council seats one, three and five will be on the election ballot.
