LUBBOCK, Texas -

A Lubbock man was charged with stabbing his ex girlfriend when she wouldn't get back together with him.

Police said Carlos Morin, 39, attacked Patricia Gil at the Super 8 Motel on Avenue Q.

He reportedly went there to ask her back, but she refused. That's when police said he got angry and told her he was going to "get her" and "get rid of her once and for all."

Investigators said a witness tried to break up their fight and Morin punched Gil in the stomach before leaving.

Morin's charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
