South Plains College hosts ribbon-cutting for new Lubbock location

LUBBOCK, Texas -

South Plains College hosted a ribbon-cutting the new Lubbock center at 39th and Avenue Q.

The center will offer college-level career and technical education programs with courses focusing on business, office administration and industrial technologies. 

Students will have access to various academic transfer courses that support technical degree programs. 

"We are here to celebrate the opportunity that we're going to offer students to come here and really help improve their lives," said Keven McConic, executive director of the Lubbock center. "We want to make sure that they have the accessibility. All the excellent staff and all the excellent faculty is gonna be here to help them."

A new culinary arts program is also in the works, which will be located at the center next year.
