Lubbock ISD employee resigns after racially charged posts on social media

LUBBOCK, Texas -

A teaching assistant at Lubbock ISD has resigned Tuesday following a racially charged social media post.

According to Lubbock ISD's spokeswoman Nancy Sharp the comments made by Amy Davidson, who was an educational aide at Lubbock Preston Smith Elementary, were in violation of the district’s employee handbook.

The posts made by Davidson used a number of expletives insulting a woman on Facebook, telling her to "go get a job" and to "go back to Mexico." The posts apparently stem from protests over the national anthem.

According to Lubbock ISD Davidson had been an employee for less than two years.
