UMC president and CEO to retire after 32 years

LUBBOCK, Texas -

CEO and president of the University Medical Center, David Allison announced his retirement.

Allison has worked for the hospital 32 years and has been the CEO for the past 10 years. He is leaving UMC to join the staff of Experience Life Church.

Effective January 1, Executive Vice President Mark Funderburk will take Allison's place. 

"A couple of CEO's before me have left a legacy of great trust in the community," Funderburk said. "I want to fulfill that and take the hospital to the next level. " 

"He's going to be an excellent leader," Allison said. "A lot of the success that we've had as you look at growth, market share from each performance is from Mark's leadership. " 

Funderburk was elected into the position by a boar and has been with UMC the last 27 years.
