LUBBOCK, Texas -

The State Bar of Texas honored two Lubbock attorneys, Carolyn F. Moore and C. Richard "Dick" Baker for outstanding service in the legal profession.

Baker spent nearly 42 years as a state and federal prosecutor and now volunteers his time representing veterans. Moore has experience working for various state agencies and is currently a board member of legal aid.

"It's very humbling to be recognized by the State Bar of Texas," Baker said. "The activities, events I find to be very beneficial to veterans and gratifying to be able to help with."

"We keep going because we know there is a need for lawyers," Moore said. "Lawyers are in every aspect of our lives. We help a lot of people."

These awards are presented quarterly in different cities across the state.
