News release from LCU:

LUBBOCK, TX (September 8, 2017) —For the second year in a row, Lubbock Christian University welcomed one of the largest freshmen classes in the history of the University and witnessed a record number of students enrolled in its Honor College. The University’s total enrollment for the fall of 2017 is 1883 students.

Undergraduate enrollment is just shy of 1500 students, with full-time undergraduate enrollment enjoying an increase of about 5% percent over the past three years. LCU is enjoying an academic strengthening of the undergraduate student population as evidenced by another record enrollment in the University’s Honors College, which has grown by 42% during the same period.

Total enrollment declined by just more than one percent from the fall of 2016 due to the strategic elimination of two on-line graduate programs for which new students are no longer being recruited.

New initiatives in campus housing and academic facilities have provided students newly renovated residence halls and the recently opened James and Jeanette Ling Science Center. “We give thanks to God for the friends and students he has sent our way, and look forward to another dynamic, life-changing year at Lubbock Christian University,” said Dr. Brian Starr, Executive Vice President.

President Tim Perrin commented: “The 2017-18 academic year is off to a great start with highly motivated and engaged students and a talented faculty and staff who are passionate about the University’s mission of changing lives. We give thanks for each and every one of our students and for the continuing strength of our academic programs.”
