LUBBOCK, Texas -

The Cars for Canines 2017 car show is a fundraiser to benefit Lubbock Animal Services.

Caprock Classic and AVR Classics hosts the show with several child-friendly booths and vendors.

There's also several free events for the dogs of Lubbock like a frisbee contest and a costume contest as well as vet services. The goal is $25,000 so the group can install 5 germicidal systems in Lubbock Animal Services.

"So there's a lot of disease that floats around back there so a lot of the euthanasia is due to that disease. So these will help clear out a lot of the diseases floating around there," Katie Wilkerson with Cars for Canines said.

There's also a silent auction with all proceeds from it going toward raising money for the germicidal systems.
