Westminster Presbyterian joins the fight against hunger

LUBBOCK, Texas -

Westminster Presbyterian is joining the "Rise Against Hunger" para-church organization to help eliminate extreme hunger by 2030.

Pastor Elliot Powell said the church will be working with other Rise Against Hunger groups to package food for donation.

He said there's a very good chance a lot of it will go to the gulf coast.

"It will not have a local impact in terms of people receiving these meals here in Lubbock, but it'll be an opportunity for everyone in Lubbock to help serve those who are in need throughout the world," Powell said.

If you'd like to get involved, visit the church website.
