Buddy Holly's 81st birthday, new performing hall celebrates his memory

LUBBOCK, Texas -

Buddy Holly would have been 81 today. His wife, Maria Elena Holly, was in the city today to see construction on the performance venue that will bear his name.

Like her husband, the Buddy Holly Hall of Performing Arts and Sciences will showcase a variety of talents.

"Buddy was able to sing country, he focused as a country singer, and then rock and roll," Maria said. "He also had the thinking of doing shows with new talent. He was looking for new talent to do new shows"

For more information on the venue, visit the LEPAA website.
