Texas man charged with seven counts of embezzlement in Lovington, N.M.

After a year long investigation, Lovington Police Department arrested Donald Ray Griffin, 69, of Fort Worth on August 31st.  He is charged him with seven counts of embezzlement related to the construction of the Lovington Trails apartment complex. 

Griffin is accused of embezzling nearly 500,000 from developers of the project and 18 other victims, some locally owned businesses. He acted as the general contracted for the project from July, 2014 to July, 2016. 

If convicted, Griffin will face a maximum possible sentence of 43 years in jail.
