Polar Express won't be back in Wolfforth

Last year's Polar Express train rides out of Wolfforth were the last. The company that owns the Lubbock and Western Railroad, Watco Companies, announced that it is "refocusing on core freight business activities" and will no longer be offering the West Texas Polar Express.

Here is the statement from Watco Companies:

Due to corporate refocusing on core freight business activities, Watco Companies, owner of the Lubbock and Western Railroad, has decided to no longer offer the West Texas location of THE POLAR EXPRESS™ Train Ride at Wolfforth, TX.

THE POLAR EXPRESS™ Train Ride is a fun-filled family train ride, based on the hit 2004 film THE POLAR EXPRESS and the 1986 and the Caldecott Medal winning book The Polar Express by Chris Van Allsburg. THE POLAR EXPRESS™ Train Ride in Wolfforth, TX  was operated by Premier Rail Collection, a division of Iowa Pacific Holdings LLC, under license from Rail Events Inc. and in cooperation with Watco Companies.

Watco Companies and Iowa Pacific Holdings wish to thank the entire Wolfforth community for their support in the past.
