UPDATE: Crash claims life of Abilene police detective; injured officers identified

A traffic crash killed an Abilene police detective Sunday evening.

The Abilene Police Department reports Detective Elise Ybarra's unmarked vehicle was hit while she was in slow-moving traffic on Interstate 20, which was backed up because of another wreck.

The identified injured occupants of the vehicle have been identified as follows:

Passenger Injured Officer Christopher Kyle Million, 32, of Abilene

Passenger Injured Officer Robert Lamar Collins, 36, of Abilene

The driver of the pickup has been identified as Sherry Drake Burleson, 71, of Clyde (Injured)

A third vehicle was identified as also involved, a Buick Enclave, driven by Randall Travis McLearen, 53, of Deleon, was not injured.

The Abilene Police Department reports Detective Elise Ybarra's unmarked vehicle was hit while she was in slow-moving traffic on Interstate 20, which was backed up because of another wreck.

Elise Ann Ybarra, 32, had been with the department for three years, and was on her way to a crimes against children conference in Dallas with two other officers.

The other two officers were hospitalized, but their injuries aren't believed to be life threatening.

Detective Ybarra leaves behind a husband and 10-month-old daughter.
