1 dead, 3 seriously hurt in fiery Scurry Co. crash

On 3 Aug 2017 at approximately 1:30 p.m. a truck/tractor semi-trailer (TTST) struck a pickup parked on the shoulder. 

Crash was on the eastbound side of US-84 about 13 miles north of Snyder.  Both vehicles caught fire and burned. 

There were 3 occupants in the pickup and 1 in the TTST.  The driver of the pickup was critically injured and was transported to UMC in Lubbock.

The driver and occupants of the pickup have been identified as:

               Driver of disabled pickup- 40 year old, Jeremy Sanchez of Lubbock, transported to UMC with incapacitating injuries.

               Passenger of disabled pickup- 27 year old, Matthew Martinez of Lubbock, transported to local hospital in Snyder, with non-incapacitating injuries

               Passenger of disabled pickup- 40 year old, Benigno Gil of Lubbock, was airlifted to UMC, where he later died due to his injuries.

The truck driver has been identified as 26 year old Keith Henry of Abilene, he was also transported to UMC with incapacitating injuries.

The crash remains under investigation
