Two killed, one injured in crash near Idalou

Upon further investigation, troopers determined the driver of the Kia did stop at the stop sign, but only failed to yield the right of way to the Dodge Pickup.

Both occupants, Paulino Quiñonez, 79, and Patrocinia Quiñonez, 71, were pronounced deceased on scene while Espinoza, 29, was transported to UMC with incapacitating injuries. 


Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) report two are dead after a the driver of a Kia runs a stop sign at the intersection of US 82 and FM 1729. 

The passenger car was traveling southbound on FM 1729 when the driver disregarded the stop sign and pulled out in front Joey Espinoza's Dodge pick up truck.

Witnesses on scene said the scene was very chaotic.

"We pulled up on scene and I raced over here to attend to the gentleman in the grey truck, noticed a couple good wounds and I just did what I know how to do and just started taking care of him," said Justin Sander, witness.

"When I went to go look, the Hispanic man moaned and I said señor are you ok and then he moaned then I checked his pulse and it was very light but she's practically leaning on him, on his chest and she had no pulse," said Erika Christian, witness.
