LUBBOCK, Texas -

Lubbock Police arrested 16-year-old Christopher Hernandez early Saturday. He’s wanted for the murder of 18-year-old Ezekial Gonzales at a house party July 4.

Gonzales was shot multiple times near 48th Street and Avenue U. While it’s typically against LPD policy to identify release a juvenile’s information, the department considered Hernandez a danger to the public.

According to LPD, dispatch received information Hernandez may be near East Eighth Street and Oak Avenue. There officers found four people with outstanding warrants. They were all arrested. More information led officers several blocks away to East Seventh Street and Beech Avenue, where Hernandez was arrested.

Here is arrest information for the other people:

Korinna Castro, 26 – 3 outstanding misdemeanor warrants
Joe Gonzales, 19 – 2 outstanding misdemeanor warrants
Gomesindo Perez, 18 – 2 outstanding misdemeanor warrants
Briana Mendoza, 23 – 1 outstanding misdemeanor warrant and hindering apprehension or prosecution
