Hit-and-run suspect in custody

LUBBOCK, Texas -

A suspect is in custody after a reported hit-and-run that seriously injured a pedestrian.

Dakota James Griffin, 20, was arrested on a charge of failure to stop and render aid.

Witnesses tell LPD officers that a vehicle in a car wash parking lot near 3rd and Frankford ran over the victim twice, then drove away.

Donald Carpenter, 57, was hospitalized in stable condition at last report.

Investigators located the suspect and suspected vehicle a short time later.
