City takes legal action against apartment owners

Posted: Updated:

From the City of Lubbock:

The City of Lubbock has taken legal action against the owners of the Coronado Apartments. The vacant apartment complex has fallen into disrepair and has become a continued health and safety hazard.

The City notified the owners of Property Maintenance Code violations in March of this year and gave the owners 30 days to correct the issues. A recent inspection found that the violations are still present.

The City has now filed a petition in District Court in accordance with Chapter 54 of the Texas Local Government Code, seeking a court order for the owners to correct the issues by repair or demolition.
