Police investigating possible shooting Thursday night

Information from Lubbock Police Department regarding possible shooting: 

At approximately 8:55 p.m. last night, the Lubbock Police Department received a call about a possible shooting involving three people near 28th Street and Avenue Q. Officers responded to the scene, but they did not locate any suspects or victims.

Additional officers responded to help search for evidence and question people in the area. Multiple people claim to have heard a loud noise that sounded like a gunshot, and officers located what could possibly be a small crime a scene.

For nearly four hours officers continued to search the area and gather information, however even after contacting all the local emergency rooms, no victims were located.

This case will be assigned to our Investigation Services Bureau and will continue to be investigated. At this point, it is unclear if there was a shooting or any type of assault.
