LUBBOCK -

A faculty member found a 8th grade female student unresponsive behind the auditorium curtains at O.L. Slaton Middle School.

According to Nancy Sharp, Communications Director for Lubbock I.S.D, the student was found alone and there is no indication of foul play.

"We encourage parents to keep routine as close to normal as possible but of course be there for their student to be able to visit about any of their concerns that they might have and again we at the school are here to support the families as well," said Tammy Edmonson, Director of Counseling.

Edmonson said counselors will be available in the school throughout the week.

Lubbock I.S.D. Police is handling the investigation.
