Yesterday's storms dumped quite a bit of rain across the South Plains, especially the southern half of our area. Here's a look at some of our rainfall totals. You can check out the full list from the West Texas Mesonet here
We have a very slight chance of some more showers and storms this afternoon, but most of us will likely remain dry under mostly sunny skies. Temperatures will likely be a couple degrees lower than what they otherwise would be, thanks to our rain-cooled air today. Lubbock will likely reach the mid 90s this afternoon.
Moving forward, the ridge of high pressure will be moving in our direction, meaning we dry out and heat up! Lubbock could potentially see its first 100° reading Wednesday and remain in the triple digits Thursday. We then drop back below the century mark, but temperatures will remain hot - in the upper 90s through the weekend with plenty of sunshine.
Have a wonderful Tuesday! Rudy will have a full update here this afternoon.
