It was another mostly sunny day with near average temperatures. Below is a look at some of the morning lows and afternoon highs from today.

Another round of showers and thunderstorms will move across the region this evening with some rain lasting overnight. This will come in the form of a broken line of storms that will move from west to east across the region. The strongest storms will be capable of producing small hail, gusty wind and heavy rain. Click here for a look at the 24 hour rainfall totals from the West Texas Mesonet sites and click here for a breakdown of all the rainfall totals from the past 96 hours. You can keep an eye on the showers with our live streaming radar below.
The last bit of rain will exit off to the east of us tomorrow morning and then we will clear-out through the day. High pressure will move directly overhead providing us with sunny afternoons and some of the hottest temperatures of the year to end out the week. We have not reached 100 degrees yet in Lubbock this year, but there is a very real possibility that we could on both Wednesday and Thursday. We will have similar conditions going into next week due to the high pressure system staying in the vicinity the whole time. Until that moves we will not see any major changes in the weather.

I hope you had a great start to the week! I will step you through the forecast tonight on the News at Nine and Christopher will have a complete updated forecast for you tomorrow morning.
