After starting off the morning with mild temperatures in the mid 70s, we warmed to a few degrees above average high this afternoon. Below is a look at some of the morning lows and afternoon highs from today.

We have had a few spotty showers pop up here and there throughout the day with a small complex of showers forming across our northwestern counties late this afternoon. These showers will move to the east, with the strongest storms capable of producing small hail as well as brief heavy rain. Click here for a look at the 24 hour rainfall totals from the West Texas Mesonet sites. You can keep an eye on the rain with our live streaming radar below.
All of the rain should stay to the west of us the rest of the week with mostly sunny to sunny conditions each afternoon. Temperatures will be hot, topping out in the upper 90s and 100s through the weekend. Next week the temperatures will cool some, with highs in the low to mid 90s. A cold front will move across the Great Plains and down toward us at the end of next week and at that time the center of high pressure will have moved off to the northeast of us. This could open the door for some rain chances, however, for now we have kept the next seven days dry.

I hope you had a great day! I will step you through the forecast tonight on the News at Nine and Matt will have a complete updated forecast for you tomorrow morning.
