The City of Lubbock is setting up a new hotline.
The hotline will allow employees and citizens to report fraud, waste and abuse. Callers will be able to make reports about city employees anonymously and a third party administrator will feed any information back to the city through the Department of Internal Audit.
"There's always use for more transparency, especially in a public government because the taxpayers are paying for everything, so we want them to know, hey if you've got a problem, if you see a situation, you can call us and we'll facilitate that process," Assistant Director of Human Resources, James Urban, said.
The city hopes to have the hotline up and running as soon as possible.
