HEAVY RAIN: Lubbock missed out on the rain last night, but slow-moving storms brought some impressive rain west and north of the city. Here are the top totals in our area off of the Texas Tech Mesonet:
Denver City 0.27”
THIS MORNING: It’s mostly cloudy with the temperature in the 60s, a few low 70s south of the city. Most of the rain has ended, there could still be a few sprinkles. The widespread heavy rain has moved up into northern Oklahoma.
TODAY: It’ll be similar to yesterday, some storms developing by mid to late afternoon. It won’t be all of the area getting the rain, but some heavy downpours will be possible. High today near 93 in Lubbock, wind SE 5-15mph. It won’t be quite as warm where the heavy rain fell last night:
WARM DAYS TO COME: There is a slight chance for some storms late tomorrow. Then the big high pressure ridge should expand farther west toward our area. This means it’ll be warm and mostly sunny through the weekend into next week. The pattern shouldn’t change to much through the middle of next week. At this point it looks like we’ll be close to 95 each afternoon, though a few days may creep into the upper 90s.
Have a great day. Rudy has an updated look at your forecast here later today.
