Man in serious condition after suspected hit and run

A man is in serious condition after the Lubbock Police Department believe he was hit by a car. Based on the evidence at the scene, LPD reported Clifford Doyle Hayes, 72, is the victim of a hit-and-run collision near Second Street and Guava Avenue. The driver of the vehicle did not stop and render aid.

Hayes was transported to UMC with life-threatening injuries.

Police report the suspect vehicle is a 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee with front end damage on the left side. The license plate and color has still not been identified.
