The Landwer House in Buddy Holly Park is now owned by Fiestas Del Llano which officially opens the building for the public.
Sitting at Cesar Chavez and North University, this marks the end of a long renovation process for the landmark building.
The home built in the 1930's was one of the first in the Canyon Lakes area after the City of Lubbock was officially established.
The city bought it in the 1980's and after decades of use as an event venue, it fell into such disrepair that it had to be closed.
About $700,000 is going into the restoration from the ground up.
"It's going to spark an interest in this part of Lubbock, and it's going to bring a lot of culture and events here that wouldn't otherwise be here -- they'd be somewhere else," Sam Harper with Fiestas Del Llano said.
Fiestas indicated the house is now also available for booking of events from anyone in the community.
