Texas Tech school awarded million dollar grant

A Texas Tech school was awarded a million dollar grant from the U.S. Department of Education.
The Virginia Murray Sowell Center for Research and Education in Sensory Disabilities, received $1.25 million.
The grant will allow 40 new students to enter the center's graduate programs in the areas of visual impairment, orientation and mobility, deaf/hard of hearing and deafblindness.
The grant begins August First, and lasts five years. 64 programs applied for the grant and 14 received funding.
