Lubbock Boys and Girls Clubs celebrated a big milestone. In 1940, one boy's facility opened during the Great Depression.
Thursday, 75 years later, four Boys and Girls Clubs are scattered throughout the city.
Faculty both old members and new celebrated with hot dogs and cake.
Dr. Harry Overstreet is the President of the Lubbock Boys and Girls Club Board of Directors. He said for $10 a school yer, you can't beat the price for the club's services.
"To watch these young men and women to participate and help each other and learn, it's just an incredible experience," Dr. Overstreet said.
A Bricks Campaign is coming up at the Optimist Club. you can buy a brick to help raise funds for a gymnasium and multi-purpose room.
