Temperatures will once again climb into the upper 90s this afternoon under sunny skies. Lubbock should reach around 97°, with a few 100s possible off the Caprock.
The ridge of high pressure will move a little further to the east over the next couple of days, allowing for a few high clouds to work their way on Thursday and Friday, along with very slight chances for rain in our far western and northwestern counties. Most of us will remain dry, with mostly sunny skies. The sunshine and hot weather continues through the weekend, with a high around 95° expected both Saturday and Sunday.
Change could come to start next week. Models are hinting at a front moving into the area, dropping our temperatures to the low 90s and also providing us with slight chances for rain. I've kept it at 10% on Monday and Tuesday for now. We'll continue to monitor this over the next few days to see if we can bump up the rain chances before then.
I'll have the hour-by-hour forecast all morning on Good Day Lubbock, and Rudy will have a full update later today.
