A Lubbock federal judge has ruled a bank robbery suspect competent to stand trial.
Starlene Delacruz, 32, has been accused of robbing the Prosperity Bank branch on University Avenue near 82nd Street on March 31st.
According to an investigator's statement that was filed with the federal complaint, the suspect told a teller to fill her straw purse with money or "This will blow up."
Delacruz was arrested hours later following a tip from an employee at Damron Motorcycles on the South loop.
A federal grand jury indicted Delacruz on a bank robbery charge in April. After reviewing a report from a court-ordered mental health evaluation, Federal Judge Sam Cummings ruled Delacruz competent to stand trial.
