We're now up to 22.00" of rain so far this year, thanks to more rain yesterday. The average for the entire year is 19.12". The pattern changes this week though - a ridge of high pressure will move in, providing us with plenty of sunshine and very warm temperatures.
Sunday will be mostly sunny, with a high around 94°. Monday and Tuesday will be even hotter at 96°. Some computer models are suggesing Lubbock will reach 100°. I've kept the forecast a few degrees below that, just because of how wet the ground is from all the recent rain. That will likely keep our temps down a little from what they otherwise would be. A few locations off the Caprock and in our northeastern counties have a better chance of reaching the century mark, as less rain has fallen there over the past few days.
The sunshine and warm temperatures will continue through the week. Overnight temps will also be mild, only dropping to the low 70s each night.
